Restoration of a 1965 Ruston Bucyrus 22 RB

Restoration of a 1965 Ruston Bucyrus 22 RB
The journey ends but there is a new start of life for this 1965 Ruston Bucyrus 22 RB, a new install at Ryan Plant Cardiff and still used today. The glorious machine will continue to be used on an open cast coal site until it is retired, restored and show cased at the National Coal Museum. It will be restored using T&R Williamson’s Spec 81 – traditional brush finish, colour matched, the best brush finish available.

INITIAL CONDITION

An update on the Ruston Bucyrus 22 RB

It has now been transported to its new home The Rhondda Heritage park mining museum near Pontypridd . It will have mechanical repairs and a full repaint using T&R’s traditional brush finish. You can almost imagine this giant machine that has served it’s time in an open cast mine yawning as it moves into retirement, reminiscing on when it’s tracks first grooved through wet and coal.

We look forward to seeing the full restoration.
