Green Whiskers to Blue

Green Whiskers to Blue

One of our customers is painting an early 1950s British Railways class 108 DMU unit, it is currently in the green whiskers livery, but now they wanting to change to a later blue and grey with full warning yellow ends era.

Livery changes are always fun, because the start and finish are so different, this week I’m starting the sanding and as soon as I have the paint I’ll get started”

Featured is a photo before the work starts and we will post the finished in T&R Williamson’s traditional brush finish.

UPDATE: Progress so far on 50933 Class 108 DMU

With over 18 hours of sanding done so far the team have started to apply the Williamsons green anti corrosive primer to the steel front, and the spec 81 dark grey undercoat to the roof. Whilst there is 12 feet of body still left to sand they have moved ahead at different stages to keep morale up and keep the team inspired, seeing the Williamson’s paint applied gave the team a real boost. All the work has been done by a small band of volunteers from the DMU group West Midlands based on the Severn Valley railway.
